Professor Jaime Caro is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of the Philippines Diliman and heads its Service Science and Software Engineering (S3) Laboratory. He holds the UP Alumni Engineers Centennial Professorial Chair.

Dr. Caro was Assistant Vice President for Development of the University of the Philippines System for 14 years. He led the creation of the UP Information Technology Development Center (UPITDC) and initiated and managed a significant university project on migration from legacy systems into ERP systems for Finance, Human Resources, and Campus Solutions. Dr. Caro’s past positions include President of the Computing Society of the Philippines (CSP), President of the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE), Vice President of the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), President of the UP System Information Technology Foundation (UPSITF), Vice President of the Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) and Chairman of the CHED Technical Panel on Information Technology Education (TPITE). He is now the President of the UP Diliman Mathematics Foundation (UPDMF) and Chairman of the CHED Technical Committee on Information Systems (TCIS). 

Dr. Caro received the following degrees from the University of the Philippines Diliman: Bachelor of Science major in Mathematics (cum laude) in 1986, Master of Science in Mathematics in 1994, and Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics in 1996. He spent a year as a postdoc research fellow at the University of Oxford. His research interests include Information Systems, Algorithms, Data Analytics, and Human-Computer Interaction. Some areas of past research are in Educational Technology and in Medical Informatics. 

Dr. Caro is also a co-founder and the Chief Academic Officer of Techfactors Inc. and Series Editor of the Techfactors courseware that includes more than 40 titles under the TekKids, TekHigh, DigiTitans, ICTopia, and Senior High School brands.

Dr. Veeda Michelle Anlacan completed her training in Adult Neurology from the University of the Philippines- Philippine General Hospital and her fellowship in Dementia from the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore.

She is an Associate Professor of Neurosciences at the University of the Philippines – College of Medicine; the former head of the dementia council of the Philippine Neurological Association and the current President of the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of the Philippines (ADAP).

She is an active neurology consultant at The Medical City, Cardinal Santos Medical Center and the Philippine General Hospital, where she also heads the Center for Memory and Cognition. Her research interests and publications are on neurodegenerative dementia and neurologic manifestations of COVID-19 infection.

Dr. Jamora is an Associate Professor of the Department of Neurosciences, College of Medicine and Philippine General Hospital, University of the Philippines Manila. He finished his adult neurology residency training at the Philippine General Hospital and proceeded to a Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders fellowship at the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore. Upon his return, he became involved in teaching neurology to the UP College of Medicine students as well as in the training of neurology residents in various hospitals. His clinical and academic interests include movement disorders, particularly X-linked dystonia-parkinsonism as well as treatment gaps and health disparities in neurologic care. He was the past president of the Movement Disorder Society of the Philippines as well as a past member of the Congress Scientific Program Committee of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society and the Asian Oceanian Section Executive Committee of the same society. At present, he is the head of the Research Committee of the Philippine Neurological Association and is a member of the Neuroepidemiology Specialty Group of the World Federation of Neurology. He is also a member of the editorial boards of the Philippine Journal of Neurology, Frontiers in Neurology, and BMC Neurology.

Professor Maria Eliza Ruiz Aguila is a physical therapist, educator, researcher, and Dean of the University of the Philippines College of Allied Medical Professions. Her clinical and academic interests include musculoskeletal health and chronic pain, physical therapy and physical activity in pediatric and other special populations, and professional issues. Her professional pursuits are driven by the need to minimize inequities in health care and to advance the physical therapy profession and health care professions. She has thus been engaged in long-term volunteer work for local and international communities, for example, related to fitness for youth with intellectual disabilities and to inclusive resilience of at-risk populations. Her contributions to advancing the physical therapy profession continues beyond her tenure in leadership roles in the Philippine Physical Therapy Association, technical panel/committee of the Commission on Higher Education, etc. Professor Aguila also holds the title of Research Affiliate in Musculoskeletal Health within the Faculty of Health Sciences of The University of Sydney to pursue collaborative research.
